Ketoprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agent which inhibits both the cyclo-oxygenase and lypoxygenase pathways of arachidonic acid breakdown. It is a potent, non-narcotic analgesic and anti-pyretic agent in the horse. Ketoprofen is a propionic acid derivative.
